  • Happy Thanksgiving

I hope that everyone can have a good Thanksgiving dinner and eat lots of turkey and stuffing and stuffs. I'll be treated to a very good meal this year, the only downside is that I can't really spend time with the people I love.

My parents will be here and I'll get to see them, but they'll be busy trying to play "the gracious hosts" to my damnable in-laws. No, no, scratch that, they're not even MY in-laws (obviously, I'm not married). The closest thing I have to in-laws are Janira's parents and I get along with them just fine...Hold that thought, I'll come back to that topic.

My dad's in-laws (the ones I have to be around) are Bob and Elaine, my stepmother's parents...they make me want to throw myself from a cliff. They grew up in their little ticky-tacky boxes and they all look just the same...that was a reference to a song from the 60's, I'll post the youtube link later on.

...Anyhow, Bob and Elaine (especially Elaine) like to judge people. They come over to the house and give things the white glove treatment, making sure that they're wonderful daughter keeps the house clean. Of course, if Christie didn't make everything squeaky clean for these awful people, they would be "disappointed" with her. They raised her to believe that she has to keep the house in perfect, spotless condition, 24/7, 365. So, the moment they accidently got a peek of my room (which is a total train wreck 350 days out of the year), they automatically wrote me off as a slob and now they won't even look at me. Bob is Christie's stepdad, and he's not quite as bad as Elaine, but still...The most he's muttered to me all day was "Happy Thanksgiving" when he walked into the house...

*Sigh* Whatever. Sooooo, I know I've never really posted anything on Xanga or Twitter about this new relationship I'm in...The truth is, it just feels awkward because I know that all of our friends read our xangas and twitters, AND they all think of Janira like a little sister (which automatically makes me the stereotypical horny teenager). So yes, I've been a little reserved when it comes to sharing the details of our relationship.

But I need you guys to know that Jany means the world to me, and I don't mean that as a cliché or a catch-phrase, but as my core belief. Over the last year, particularly the last 8 months, Janira and I have grown closer and closer. She knows things about me that no one else knows, and I know things about her that she hasn't even told to Corky. That being said, we've only be together for two months and we still have a long road ahead of us. A very long road that I look forward to...Because I am hers, and she'll be mine for as long as I can keep her...

For those interested enough, here's that song I talked about before: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AN3rN59GlWw&feature=related

  • Back to Work

Okay, as some of you know, I was suspended from work last Tuesday for an incident that involved theft from the company. They told me that a suspension was standard procedure when the company was investigating an incident that involved that person. I said, okay whatever, so long as I get paid for the shifts that you're taking away from me. I was eventually cleared and allowed to go back to work, but when I was suspended, they took my Disney ID...

On Friday, I got the call that said that my name was cleared and I could come back to work, where they would give me back my ID. The manager who called me also mentioned that I would be working in "Mickey's of Hollywood" on Saturday, so I would have to wear the costume for that store (Button-down shirt, tie, and suspenders).

Soooo on Saturday, I walk into work and they tell me that I'm wearing the wrong costume. >.< Turns out that I was SUPPOSED to work at the Hub Carts, so I would need to wear their costume (Blue shirt, yellow suspenders). So I turn back and head down to costuming, taking off my tie and suspenders as I walked so I could save some time when I was getting changed. When I get to costuming, I grab the costume I need and go to have it checked out. The only issue is that they needed to see my ID before they could check out another costume...

So I left the Hub Cart costume there, turned back and walked back to work. When I got to the back door of the store that I work in, I saw that I wouldn't be able to go through the back door because you have to swipe your ID to open the damn door...and the only other way to get into the store is to walk "on-stage" and go through the front door, but guests would be able to see me without my tie and suspenders (not good).

At that point, I just sighed and thought, "Wow, what a great way to start back at work!!" Slightly frustrated, I tied that stupid tie back on, put on my suspenders again, and went around to the front door. I met my managers, who gave me a run-down about what had happened with the investigation, basically telling me to avoid getting involved in this kind of situation from now on. I said, okay whatever, so long as I get my f***ing ID back. (Not my actual words).

After I got my ID back, I walked back down to costuming, got the dumb costume, got changed in record time, and walked back to work, only to be told that I would be doing area stock today. F.M.L.

  • Shtuff...

I haven't posted anything in awhile so I figure I should try now while I've got some free time...

My life is going pretty well right now overall. Work is still annoying and sometimes stressful, but I get through it. On the down side, I don't always get a lot of sleep, so I feel like a zombie some mornings. And then there are the days when I can actually sleep in and my body stays asleep for some 14 hours...

Working six days a week has affected my grades, but not as bad as I thought it would. On the first Statics test I got a 91, when the class average was 71...and on the first Physics test I got a 90, when the class average was 58. My Chemistry grade is pretty bad though...

A friend of mine from work, Anthony, is working on a plan he has for Osceola County. He wants to turn some 400+ acres into a few tracks for legalized street racing (meaning, street racing that follows the safety requirements of the government). He wants to put the place just off of 192, on that stretch of unused land from Cracker Barrel to the KFC at Old Town.

He presents his plan to some Board in Osceola County next week and I offered to draw him a layout of the place on AutoCAD (a drawing program used by engineers). If I can get it to work, it should look a lot more professional that hand-drawings on notebook paper...

That reminds me, I got yet another speeding ticket on Monday for doing 65 on a 50...it was the RAMP to get onto I-4...When you get onto an interstate, you HAVE to speed up to avoid getting rear-ended by traffic ON the interstate...Obviously, I'm somewhat miffed at FHP right now for taking advantage of drivers like that, specifically me...There's no way for me to keep the points off of my license, which means that my insurance will skyrocket by next year, (because I'm only 20) and for what?

    ...It just doesn't seem fair.

  • Facebook Activity

So I logged onto my Facebook account today, and saw that I had a few friend requests to take care of. Usually, it's spam from people trying to get me to play MafiaWars or KingdomWars, but today I had 3 friends requests from people I actually know...

The first two were from Marcus and Omar. Marcus is one of my best friends from high school (he was one of the few friends I had back then) and Omar is another engineering student from Valencia. Derrick should remember him, we had pretty much EVERY class together so we just car-pooled to all of our classes last Spring...

But the third friend request is the one that caught my eye...It was from a guy named Bradley Freeman, my mother's ex-husband's son (so, my step-brother? ex-step-brother?) We got to talking over Facebook and it turns out that he's going to the University of Delaware with another friend of mine, Caitlin. I also asked about Brad's older brother, Scott (my other ex-step-brother) and apparently he graduated from U of D and he's teaching Latin at Dover High School, about 20 minutes from where my Uncle Tim lives...Jesus, small world.

At any rate, it's good to hear from my brothers again (I say brothers because we all had to put up with my mother's alcoholism 8 years ago, and we did kinda grow up together). I haven't seen or spoken to either of them in 5 or 6 years...
